Dear KTF Siblings,
Thank you to all who attended the Fix Tier 6 rally last Sunday in Albany. Not only was it a great event, but our collective voices were heard loud and clear by our elected officials.
Members of the State Senate and Assembly have expressed their support for changes to roll back Tiers 5 and 6. We will have to wait and see what the final state budget brings, but the momentum is building.
In the meantime, we can continue to put pressure on our elected officials by contacting them directly. Please take a moment to click the link and send a message urging them to support meaningful reforms to Tiers 5 and 6.➡ Send a message to your legislators on the NYSUT Member Action Center to tell them to Fix Tier 6!
Your continued engagement and advocacy make a difference. Together, we can keep pushing for the retirement security our members deserve.
In solidarity,
Bonnie & the KTF Board of Directors
A message from NYSUT’s President, Melinda Person:

We showed Albany what solidarity looks like.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Albany on March 8 for one of the largest labor rallies this state has seen in decades. Thousands of educators, nurses, firefighters and public employees stood together with one message: Fix Tier 6!
This rally was a huge undertaking, with a massive influx of members from every corner of the state, arriving by bus and car. Thank you to all who made a long trip, and for your patience as we sorted through many complicated logistics.
We were honored to hear from leaders who share our commitment to pension equity — Gov. Kathy Hochul, NYSUT President Melinda Person, NYS AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento, PEF President Wayne Spence, UFT President Michael Mulgrew, NYS Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, and so many more. We even got a boost from Abbott Elementary star and SAG-AFTRA leader Lisa Ann Walter, who reminded us that union solidarity crosses every industry.
Your voices echoed all the way to the Capitol. Your stories made this fight personal. And your presence sent an unmistakable signal to lawmakers: working people are united, and we're not backing down.
One More Thank You to Our Primary Rally Sponsors!
This incredible day wouldn't have been possible without the support of our major union partners. These national, statewide and local organizations helped ensure we could come together as one labor family:

If you see members of these organizations, thank them. We're in this fight together, and we couldn't do it without their help and commitment.

This isn't over. Stay tuned for next steps as this year's state budget process moves forward. Keep spreading the word.
Together, we will Fix Tier 6.
