Who is the Kingston Teachers’ Federation?
The Kingston Teachers’ Federation is a union of employees of the Kingston City School District that recognize that we have a common goal with the school district, of working towards providing the finest educational opportunities for the students of the district. This goal is best achieved by the joint efforts of the Federation and the District.
What We Do...
The Federation and District, through joint study and deliberation, endeavor in good faith to negotiate salaries, and terms and conditions of employment. KTF members voluntarily pay dues to support and provide for strong collective bargaining. Our union has allowed us to build a strong professional community that empowers our members to be their very best! It allows us the rights AND strength to stand up and advocate for our profession and the students we teach. Our dues also provide support, services and benefits to members through KTF and our affiliations with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and New York State United Teachers (NYSUT.)
Mission Statement...
As a union of professionals, we know strong schools are the lynchpin of strong communities. We believe community staff partnerships
are the key to building strong schools. Ensuring that schools are well resourced to meet student needs, and hiring and retaining
strong teachers, are commitments that all stakeholders should be able to support.
